About this site
Who makes it, how the tier list is built, and how it pays for itself.
What LoLClassicBuilds is
League Classic brought Season 3 League of Legends back — old runes, old masteries, old items, a 61-champion roster and a meta that most players either never saw or last saw in 2013. LoLClassicBuilds.com exists to make that game legible again: a tier list you can trust, a build page for every champion in the roster, and guides for the systems modern League deleted.
It is an independent site run by one person. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Riot Games. League of Legends and League Classic are trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.
How the consensus tier list works
Single-source tier lists disagree wildly, especially in the first weeks of a new mode, and several of the big ones still list champions that are not in the Classic roster at all. So we do not publish an opinion — we aggregate. We take the published rankings from four independent sources, filter them down to champions that actually exist in League Classic, convert each source's tiers onto one scale, and average them.
The four sources are credited in the footer of every page and linked directly: expcarry, METAsrc, League Classic Wiki and U.GG. Every champion card shows which sources ranked it and at what tier, so you can see the disagreement rather than having it hidden behind a single letter. When sources move from editorial forecasts to live win-rate data, the consensus moves with them.
Where the builds and runes come from
The tier data is aggregated. Everything else — the item builds, rune pages, mastery trees, skill orders, combos, matchup notes and lane tips — is written for this site, based on documented Season 3 mechanics and item stats. It is not scraped from other guide sites, and it is not auto-generated from an API that does not exist yet for this mode.
That means it can be wrong in the way a person is wrong rather than the way a scraper is: if a build on this site does not match what actually works in your games, that is worth telling us about, and it gets fixed.
Corrections
League Classic is new and Riot is still patching it. Numbers shift, and a page can go stale between patches. If you spot something wrong — an item that no longer exists, a rune that got changed, a matchup call that is simply bad — send it over and we will correct it. Corrections are made to the page itself rather than logged in a changelog nobody reads.
How the site is funded
Display advertising, through Google AdSense. That is the whole business model. There is no subscription, no paywall, nothing gated, no affiliate links inside the build recommendations and no sponsored champion placements — nobody can pay to be moved up the tier list, and no advertiser has ever asked to. What the ads pay for is hosting and the time to keep 130-plus pages current.
What advertising means for your data is set out in full on the privacy policy and the cookie policy.
Images and assets
Champion and item artwork is served from Riot's Data Dragon and Community Dragon, the asset services Riot publishes for exactly this purpose. Riot owns that artwork. The site's own design, layout, code and written guides are ours.
